Brenna's incisor #24 came in over night. Literally! Her baby teeth O and P were loose but not loose enough to come out and make room for her permanent tooth. Time to start wiggling Brenna!

Wiggle, wiggle and nothing. She must have been at the mirror for a good couple hours. I pushed her a little because I knew picture day was the next day & I thought it would be so cute to do her Spring pictures toothless.

I LOVE helping out in Brenna's class & I love that her teacher lets me bring Jake with me!

Fridays are cooking days & today we made little edible carrot patches. Cute and yummy!

Then Brenna and Jake both had Hygiene appointments. An easy peasy day right? Not so much. I expressed my concerns about Brenna's baby teeth (the adult teeth are suppose to push the baby teeth out when they come in). Dr. Amy said that the baby teeth are probably not going wiggle there way out so the teeth need to be extracted. Bummer. This girl has never had a cavity in her whole life now she is going to need anesthetic for a major procedure? Yikes! She did surprisingly awesome! Two teeth pulled without one whimper. She did better that most adults! She was SO numb in this picture!

So Wes decides that Jake needs his haircut.... I agree and Wes says he is going to do it himself. Whats the worst that can happen I tell myself? So he got the clippers out and worked his magic! Uhhhhhh why did you do a bowl cut with a design on the side? It looked REALLY bad. Poor daddy just wanted to help out while saving some money. I said I would rather have his head shaved so when I went to pick Brenna up from school by golly thats what he did.

At first I was upset. I LOVE his light blond locks! Now it just makes sense.... Shave let it grow repeat!

At the local ski resorts you get a free lift ticket on the day of your birthday so every year that is what he wants to do! This year our friend Erik joined him. Poor Wes had to pull out my pink Canon to have someone take a picture of them. What a awesome view!

It's Christmas Morning!! This year Wes & I decided to do something a little different. We had a little fake tree in the kids room so we put their stockings and a few little things under that tree. They woke up to a fun little surprise!

Time for the big stuff! Wes and I were SO giddy last night about the kids BIG present. We got them an EZ Ski to tow behind the boat so they can easily learn how to water ski! We had a feeling that Jake would be the first one to run to it. Sure enough he was. Lets just see if he will be the first behind the boat??

The kids were hanging out in the living room when suddenly we heard a knocking sound?? The kids were trying to figure out where it came from when I yelled "OH MY, look in your room" The kids ran into there bedroom to find a surprise from Santa's Elves (AKA The Mom)!!! They left a sweet little note & a cookie making kit to make for Santa's arrival tonight!

They didn't waste any time & got right to work!

I LOVE Christmas Eve! I LOVE dressing my two little munchkins in their matching pajamas, plopping them in front of the tree and capturing their excited little sweet faces!

Brenna's Holiday Show

Today was Brenna's very first school performance!! I got the kids up a little earlier than usual to they could get all dolled up for the big day ahead. I decided to take advantage of them dressed up and get a few pictures in front of the tree!

Brenna and all the other kindergartner's sang "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" & "Jingle Bells." She was so excited to finally show off what she had been practicing for WEEKS!

I am so proud of my little girl! I couldn't be more excited to watch her walk up to the same stage that I did my Christmas performance on when I was in Kindergarten!
Jake and I spent the day with Brenna and her class. After the performance they had their holiday brunch. They kids enjoyed pancakes, waffles, biscuits and my homemade banana bread. All the kids were on a major sugar high from all the syrup!

Brenna had an evening performance as well so after school we made sure to take it easy and get some rest before the big night. Since I was helping in the class during the day I was not able to get a good seat so I didn't get very good pictures or video for that matter. I was determined to get to the night performance early so I could get better pictures and possibly video. Well, never happened. Jake ended up falling asleep on me and so I couldn't move. I held my video camera as high as I could but was not able to get her. Luckily my friend was super close to get her daughter and Brenna happens to be in it a little. SCORE!

Santa's Little Helper

This is the busiest time of year for Wes so each driver has a designated helper to unsure that all the Christmas gifts get out on time! This year Wes was lucky enough to have Bryan as his little elf. I have to admit, I am pretty jealous! I think it would be so much fun to help deliver packages with my husband and get paid for it! Maybe someday.

The Nutcracker

This year I surprised Brenna to a trip to the annual Lake Arrowhead Nutcracker! This show was extra special because our very own Emily got the lead part of "Clara." I had never before seen the show either so we were both super excited!Here is Brenna with Emily and Riley. Just just had to see them after the show!

I had been holding off putting Brenna in the Nutcracker show because it is a ton of work for the ballerina's and the parents. Plus, I want her to really enjoy the whole experience. I don't think I can put it off any longer. After seeing this show she definitely wants to be in the show and dance with Emily and Riley. How can I say no???

Santa Clause Is Coming To Town!

Gotta love Running Springs! Things used to be different when I was growing up in this small town. We had huge parades with the anticipation of seeing Santa at the very end throwing candy canes into the crowds. This year we went to the "Tree Lighting Ceremony" which kicked off the holiday season! The lights turned on and I thought this is it? One string of lights around this huge tree? Then we heard sirens... Santa was in the front seat of a fire truck! Brenna sat on Santa's lap (Jake would not get anywhere near him!), took a picture then we went home. We were literally there 10 minutes. Brenna said "Santa didn't even ask what I wanted for Christmas????" She was going to ask for an ipad HaHaHa! Bad Santa.

Kindergarten Mornings

For the first couple months of school I would park the car, get both Brenna and Jake out and walk Brenna to her class. For the last couple of weeks I have been dropping her off at the gate. If it were up to me I would walk her everyday until she graduates college! She wants to be dropped off though. It makes her feel grown-up. She takes off her seat belt, grabs her backpack and jumps in the front seat with me then as we pull up to the gate she opens her door jumps out, closes the door and runs to class. The first day I felt horrible the WHOLE day. My little girl is growing up.

Black Friday 2010

This year we decided to do thinks a little differently this year. Call us crazy because were are! We thought it would be fun to pull an all nighter. Usually we celebrate Thanksgiving, relax then head to bead at a decent hour and wake up super early and go to Target. This year Toys R Us opened at 10pm. We went to both stores but ended up waiting in line a total of 8 hours in the 22 degree freezing cold. But hey, we got a ton of great deals and got most of the Christmas shopping knocked out. Will we do it again next year? Probably not.

Today was the kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast and Jake and I got to join in on the festivities!

And we enjoyed every second of it! This year Wes had this brilliant idea to use our tube that we usually tow behind the boat. I don't know why we didn't think of it before? It was a BLAST!

Our Christmas tree that is... We had a free weekend and it was snowing outside and we thought why not? Nothing like blaring the Christmas music, drinking hot cocoa, eating gingerbread cookies all while decorating your tree! What an exciting day! My parent joined us to watch Brenna's last soccer game. It was bitter sweet because I think she was really starting to get into the sport but it was also starting to get really cold! It was time... We can't wait until next season when both Brenna and Jake will be enjoying the sport! The whole gang met up with us so we could CELEBRATE Dad's birthday! We went to Don Pepe's for dinner, played Dance party on the wii and had my famous San Andre's german chocolate cake!

The kids are getting older and I love watching them be so creative. This year for Father's Day we decided that we were going to make cookies. We found an old glass jar then Brenna and Jake painted a piece of paper to decorate the glass with, made a whole bunch of oatmeal cookies then stuck a bow on the top! Cute huh!

A Valentine's Day Getaway!

This weekend Wes decided he wanted to be spontaneous and asked me to call the Grandparents to see if they would watch the kids this weekend. My parents jumped at the chance to watch the kids. Overnight? Yes mom, overnight. Yes, the second time I had ever left Jake overnight. Yes, I know he is 2 1/2. We packed a bag and dropped the kids off and we were off to Manhattan Beach. No clue where we were going and no reservations but hey we were being spontaneous! Luckily we scored a room. Not sure how since it was Valentine's day weekend! We had a great time. We walked for miles along the beach, talked AND ate without interruption and laughed, a lot! Good times. Romantic indeed and he even surprised me with a diamond solitaire necklace that I have been wanting forever! My kids survived so I'm hoping we can plan another getaway soon =)

Disneyland & Some First's For Jake!

A few months back my Sister and I took Brenna and my Nephew Ethan to Disneyland for some one-on-one time and we enjoyed it so much that we decided that it would be fun to do it again with the toddlers. It was quite a different experience with the younger kids. Strollers, naps and temper tantrums but we made it out alive and the kiddo's enjoyed having their mommies all to themselves!

Taco Soup Monday

Mondays are usually a little crazy for us. Wes heads off to work and the kids and I recover from the weekend. The house is usually a disaster, we need groceries and Brenna has ballet. I usually try and get as much cleaning as possible done in the morning then we get ready for ballet. Brenna has class for one hour so Jake and I race to the grocery store, shop, then race back to get Brenna. Sounds fun right! Today Wes decided not to work and I was actually kind of relived. We got some snow last night and wasn't sure if I actually wanted to be driving in it. When it snows I don't drive. Nothing is worth risking my kids life for! Brenna has already missed a few classes because of the snow but that's just the way we roll, or don't for that matter!

I just LOVE her ballet studio and her teacher. Miss Sharon is the best teacher and just can't say enough good things about Brenna. The girls are already practicing for the Spring recital! It is going to be so cute this year. Some kind of circus theme =)

After we got home Wes decided that he wanted to make some fresh salsa and boy was it GOOD! Who knew a tall white boy could make such tasty salsa. I didn't! I figured that since he was in the mood for Mexican that I would make my homemade taco soup for dinner. Yum!

The Princess and The Frog Special Engagment

What a fun girls day! Walt Disney Studios opened its gates for a once-in-a-lifetime advance special engagement in celebration of Disney's newest film "The Princess and the Frog" Nana surprised us and bought tickets for me and the "grandgirls!!!" We felt like movie stars for a day =) The movie was really cute however, I did feel like it was a little scary for little kids but what Disney movie isn't! Following the film we got the Ultimate Disney Experience.

The Grand Canyon!!!

First stop Williams Arizona... We stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway hotel and it was gorgeous! Beautiful Christmas lights everywhere!

We were able to see the Polar Express train all lit up in lights too! Hopefully we will be able to take that train ride in the future.... It sounds really fun!

The next morning we took a 2 hour train ride to the south rim of the Grand Canyon!

The South Rim... Beautiful! Luckily there was guard rails but not good enough for this mama! The kids were right by our sides the whole time...

It's really here! Wes had the day off from work today and we decided that it would be fun to play in the leaves. It was FREEZING and overcast outside today which made for perfect pictures!

DON'T FREAK OUT. Yes we put the tree up! We usually do it the weekend after Thanksgiving but this year we have a lot of stuff going on. Birthdays, Sweater Parties, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Grand Canyon just to name a few. So yes, its up and Brenna did the honor of putting the star on like she does every year =)

My Brother and SIL are going to be renewing their vows November 7th so today we rehearsed for the big day and had brunch. I just took a few pictures of our crazy family!

Or so I thought! The kids and I have been waiting for daddy to have an early night so that we could carve this baby... Let me just say that I am beginning to really hate basketball season!

Dinner Time In Our House.....

is NON existent! I make dinner every night. The kids and I sit down to dinner every night (Wes hardly ever gets home in time for dinner). Jake is the first person to get up from the table every night. Every night I wish I still had the highchair because he will not sit down to eat dinner. Every night either Brenna or Jake will say " I don't like this" and every night I say "can you at least please try it?" Then every night the kids say "we're done" and every night I say "OK get in the bath." Then every night I get their jammie's on and brush their teeth then Wes will come home and I warm up his dinner. Every night Brenna and Jake go up to him and tell him that they are hungry. Every night Wes feeds them (sometimes milk and cookies) despite the fact that they didn't touch their dinner and I brushed their teeth.

Tonight I told Brenna that I always (a little white lie never hurt anybody!) ate what my mommy and daddy made for me because they worked really hard to make a meal for me and I didn't want to hurt their feelings. Brenna looked at me and said with that little head nod of hers "Well if you made what we liked we would eat it!" Well excuse me for living! Or at least trying to be a good mom! I asked what she would prefer I made and she said sandwiches, letter noodles and straight noodles NOT the curly ones. What's a mom to do? This every night thing is getting old!

I wonder if I was this creative when I was four.... Brenna is ALWAYS drawing or coloring something. This morning she brought this to me with a huge proud smile and said "Mom look! this is Rapunzel! I made her hair really long so that you would be able to tell who it was!" Then Brenna told me what next to Rapunzel and I almost died laughing...... It's a restroom for princesses! Puffy sleeves and all!! Pretty darn good if you ask me!

Pumpkin Patch 2009

I can't believe that it was a year ago when I took this picture! They both look so little.... It makes me so sad to think how fast they are growing up.

Today the kids and I got invited to go to a pumpkin patch and hang out with Amanda and her babes and Becky and her two babes. The weather was absolutely perfect and all the kids we little angels =)

All of the kids LOVED the petting zoo. The animals didn't mind either! First this goat wanted to be in the picture.....

Adriana and my Brother are going to be renewing their vows next month and they are celebrating by having a huge service? Wedding?? Not sure what to call it but it will be extravagant! Groomsmen, bridesmaids, flower-girls, and ring-bearers and thats just our side of the family =) Adriana's family decided it would be fun to throw her a surprise bridal shower at the British Emporium for a tea party! The person with the best tea hat wins a prize!! So what are three girls to do who have never owned a tea hat and actually didn't know existed??? We MAKE them! Target and Michael's here we come =) Getting my Mom, Sister and I together is a hoot in itself, but going to Michael's and trying on baskets and hanging birdhouses off of it PRICELESS! Yes, my mother was going to wear a basket. She decided to tone it down a tad and wear a regular hat and put birds all over it. I was laughing so hard I was in tears! Of-course she was going to win the contest.... This was the funniest idea! Kathryn and I didn't have a chance so we just made our hats fun. We couldn't wait to get home and get started on our creations!

After picking up the newest member of our household "Lulu" yesterday we went to visit Grandpa at work!

Introducing Lulu (Brenna named Wes' new car)!! After using his 67' camaro as the "commuter" car for a whole year we thought it was time to get a more economical car!

The weather was absolutely perfect! Well the water was anyways.... The water was about 80 degrees! We drove out on Friday night and the kids were great considering it's a four hour drive. You can always tell when you have arrived at the river because you get that wonderful smell of the water. Wes and I always roll all the windows down and this time Brenna noticed the smell and she said ooooh I smell sand!

Poor Jake really wanted to ride the jet ski but would sit on it and freak out! At least he tried though!

Last time we went to the river Brenna would get nowhere near the jet ski and surprisingly this time she hopped right on!

Wes was doing donuts and was traveling at faster than my liking speeds and Brenna LOVED it!

Brenna decided that she was going to give me a leg massage with the sand. A leg message and a mud slide couldn't ask for more =)

Goodness! I can't believe September is already here. I have one more short year before Brenna heads off to (tear) Kindergarten and then I'm sure time will really fly. I am so not ready for any of my children to leave my nest even if it is for a morning in Kindergarten! This Fall I made the decision to home school Brenna instead of sending her to preschool. I feel like I have, and can do a better job at preparing her for school. Plus, Jake will also benefit so its a double whammy! I feel like the preschools up here are more like daycare and I'm not interested in paying someone to watch my kid. I do feel bad for Brenna because she LOVES school. I am just going to make sure to keep her busy with play dates!

We have been so busy lately! I have so many blogs that I need to catch up on... I will definitely be back dating some blogs in the near future =) I have been redecorating, painting, planting, ebaying, shopping and that's just in the last two days! No, really just the few things that I've been up to. After living in this house for 4 years I'm just now starting to finish up my decorating. I really love my house now and feel like I have finally found my style.

The last couple days have been AWESOME! Rain, thunderstorms and cooler weather. Sort of a preview of the upcoming months. I LOVE FALL! Candles, crockpots, brown sweaters, leaves, baking, cool nights and warm cozy blankets. Can't wait!
